I realize I am still behind in blogging, but guess what we experienced yesterday? A tornado. Thankfully it didn't touchdown in Cheyenne, but it came close. Click on this link to get the story from the local paper.

It happened as the kids were getting off the bus. Josh ran into the house screaming, "Tornado" . The sirens had just gone off. I checked the radio and then got all the kids in the basement. Even though I lived in Nebraska for 10 years I can only count a few times when I have been in a tornado warning. Nothing quite compares to being in the basement with six scared kids and a dog huddled under sleeping bags for protection. We stayed there for about 45 minutes. The kids were begging for an after school snack, so lucky for us, all of our food storage is in the basement. I was able to provide them with snacks, water, and even baby wipes to clean their hands. I love being prepared!

Wow! That's exciting--glad it didn't come too close to you.
I did read the news article. That sounds pretty exciting, and scary.I'm glad you were prepared...and even had snacks.
sounds like memories of good ol Nebraska. Glad everyone was safe.
Shaunda,
So I actually back-date my blog posts so when I print it off at the end of the year I have the right dates. Therefore, we are already home. Dan was there for the tornado. He was going to try and look up Jaydee's number at work and come by and see you guys but time just got away from him.
It would have been fun to see you guys. If he has another TDY in Cheyenne, he will for sure get in contact with you.
Hope you guys are doing well.
(I deleted your comment so your number isn't out there for the world to see! :)).
